Both legs were torn in a dozen places, and behind each opening sits a panel of white floral lace, daisies and vine worked into fine net. From a distance the rips read as pale windows. Up close there are flowers inside them.
The beading spills outward from every tear rather than framing it, running in loose trails of pearl, crystal, and silver bead that thin as they travel down the leg and pool again at the ankle. The frayed denim threads were left long and worked in with the beads, so torn cotton and glass sit in the same texture.
